CHoR's Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program welcomed its first two fellows, Ashley Litchfield, MD and Deanna Willis, MD, this month. This brand new fellowship program received accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education in September 2016, earning commendation from reviewers.
"This program furthers our commitment to providing highly-trained emergency medicine physicians, evidence-based practice and the highest quality care for our community and nation," says Aline Baghdassarian, MD, MPH, FAAP, PEM fellowship director.
All of the pediatric emergency medicine physicians at CHoR will be involved in the program, with leaders offering specific expertise in the following areas:
- Advocacy: Sam Bartle, MD
- Evidence-based medicine & Biostatistics education: Judy Barto, MD and Jonathan Silverman, MD
- Quality: Rashida Woods, MD
- Simulation: Adam Bullock, MD
The program will be in the match for upcoming recruiting seasons and offers an opportunity for highly-qualified individuals who have completed a residency in pediatrics or emergency medicine to advance their training at Virginia's only Level 1 pediatric trauma center.
