New Turner Syndrome Clinic Provides Comprehensive and Convenient Care
Tuesday, March 31, 2015
Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU's (CHoR) new multidisciplinary Turner syndrome clinic combines the expertise of an endocrinologist, adolescent gynecologist and cardiologist in one convenient appointment.
The clinic will be led by Dr. Roopa Shankar, a board-certified pediatric endocrinologist who joined CHoR's endocrine team in January 2014 with a special interest in providing comprehensive care for girls with Turner Syndrome.
"It is also our hope that this clinic will become a regional resource for girls with Turner syndrome in Central Virginia," said Shankar. "It will also be an opportunity for families to meet other families who are managing Turner syndrome. Future plans for the clinic include expanding services with additional pediatric specialists and providing educational events with Turner syndrome experts."
Location and Appointments
CHoR's Turner syndrome clinic will be held at the Center for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism off of Parham Road in Richmond's West End.
Please call 804-828-CHOR (2467) to schedule an appointment.
*Patients will be able to follow up their regular endocrinologist whether or not they choose to participate in this multidisciplinary clinic.
