Dr. Dec has been a sports medicine physician in Richmond for more than 25 years, covering sidelines in youth sports, high schools and colleges. She is head team physician with Longwood University and a volunteer physician with U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams. She is immediate past president of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, on the Frank C. McCue Sports Medicine Advisory Committee for Virginia High School League, a member of the concussion writing group for the American Academy Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and on the executive committee for the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine Board of Directors.
Dr. Dec has earned many awards - most recently the Ken Davis Teaching Excellence Award, Top Docs in Sports Medicine, Top Doc for Women in Sports Medicine, Outstanding Educator in Sports Medicine and the Frank C. McCue III, MD Sports Medicine Award from the Virginia High School Coaches Association.
She sees youth ages eight and up for prevention and for diagnosis and treatment of sports issues.
