Just one turn off I-95, our new Children's Tower opened April 30 and completes an entire city block dedicated to caring for kids. Connected to our outpatient Children's Pavilion, the new tower houses emergency, trauma and inpatient care. You might not know when - but you'll always know where.

Children's Tower - unlike any other
Your new children's tower is home to more than the region's best pediatric emergency, trauma and inpatient care. In partnership with patient families and our community, we've designed this building with special features that make the hospital experience more comfortable for patients and families. Kid and family-friendly amenities include:
- Cafeteria with kid-friendly food options, including brick oven pizza and soft serve ice cream
- Playrooms, teen spaces and family lounges on every inpatient floor
- Indoor children's garden
- Family gym
- Convenient, free parking in the building
- James River themed mascots to help with wayfinding
- Performance space for special guests and events
Additional amenities coming soon, including a multi-faith chapel, RMHC house-within-a-hospital, Teammates for Kids child life zone, gaming room and sensory room.

Visiting the Children's Emergency Department
- Drop-off is available at the entrance at 1001 E. Marshall Street
- Free parking is available in the attached Children's Parking Deck, enter at 341 N. 10th Street, turn down the ramp at the red emergency sign, turn left at the bottom of the ramp to enter the dedicated ER parking area.
Children's Emergency is located on Level 3, a quick elevator ride once you enter the building. Our ER is the only in the region with 24/7 access to any pediatric specialist your child may need.
