Dr. Saccoccio returned to CHoR after completing advanced fellowship training in infectious diseases at Duke University. During fellowship, Dr. Saccoccio was awarded a Thrasher early career award and Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society fellowship award for her research on congenital cytomegalovirus. She was also awarded several Children Miracle Network awards for a variety of projects.
She was previously a clinical assistant professor at UF Health Shands Children's Hospital in Gainesville, FL. Dr. Saccoccio serves as the director of antimicrobial stewardship at CHoR. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, and Infectious Diseases Society of America.
Dr. Saccoccio is excited to be back in Richmond. She enjoys exploring the local river trails with her husband, son and rescue puppy.
