Dr. Raucci's research primarily focuses on basic and translational studies that probe the understanding of the role of ion channels in the development of arrhythmia and fibrosis in pediatric and young adult cardiomyopathies and heart failure. He is also interested in developing non-contrast techniques for detecting and monitoring cardiac fibrosis by cardiac MRI. He is currently funded through an NIH K08 award from the NHLBI to investigate the role of Pannexin 1 channels in the development of heart disease in Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
