Conveniently located two turns off Interstate-95, our Children's Emergency Department is the only in the region to specialize in caring just for kids. We're also home to the region's only Level 1 pediatric trauma center and are a regional referral source for other hospitals. With a helipad on the roof and free, convenient parking, care has never been more convenient.

Focused on kids and families

We understand going to the emergency room can be scary. Our goal is to provide easy, convenient access to the best care right away. Whether it’s a sports injury, health scare in the middle of the night or major trauma, our team is prepared to care for your child 24/7, 365. Avoid a transfer by always choosing CHoR first. When your child needs immediate or life-saving care, we provide not only emergency treatment to stabilize them, but also a range of pediatric subspecialties from neurosciences to orthopaedics and more to take care of all their needs.

  • 21 comfortable exam rooms with large windows, offering natural light and city views
  • Fast-track rooms, where we can treat and release children with conditions such as ear infections, colds and rashes
  • Well and sick waiting rooms (although our goal is for families to not wait as we triage children as quickly as possible)
  • Radiology suite
  • Child protection team for the evaluation and treatment of children who have experienced abuse or neglect
  • Child life services to ease the stress of an ER visit; child life is available to talk with your child and explain what is happening to them in the most appropriate ways for their age and condition, the also provide
  • Literacy center with books for children to take home
