- Open communication between family and medical team
- Connections to school and community resources
- Coordination among inpatient, outpatient, and home settings
- Decision making centered around the family
- Age-appropriate grief and bereavement counseling for family
- Music therapy
- Pet visitation
- Therapeutic play and art activities
The right time for supportive care
It's never too early for supportive care services. Our team can be brought in at any point to help with symptoms and concerns related to a serious illness. By embracing a child-friendly, family-centered approach, we promote healing, comfort and hope. Our supportive care team includes:
- Social work
- Pastoral services
- Child life services
- Medical providers
We collaborate with the other members of the child's medical team to provide pain and symptom management, assistance with complex medical decisions, and psychological and spiritual support.
