Breastfeeding medicine
Breastfeeding/lactation support and education
As a new parent, breastfeeding can come with quite a learning curve. That's why we're here to help. At our dedicated breastfeeding (lactation) clinic, you'll receive breastfeeding support and education for yourself and medical care for your infant.
We like to see new mothers within the first few days after going home, or at any point in the breastfeeding journey to provide emotional support and the tools needed to be successful in breastfeeding.
Why choose CHoR for breastfeeding support
Our award-winning lactation team is the recipient of the International Board Certified Lactation Consultants Care Award. This global award recognizes hospitals and health agencies that hire board certified IBCLC and have dedicated lactation support programs.
The World Health Organization and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life. We are dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. We recognize every baby and mom is different so we offer resources and reassurance for all levels of breastfeeding experience - from those who have never breastfed or are struggling to moms who might just need a refresher.
Our team includes International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants® who provide care in the newborn nursery as well as the breastfeeding clinic. Our physicians, nurse practitioners and nurses have extensive experience helping families throughout all stages of the breastfeeding process, from birth to the six-month mark and beyond.
