    Meet the speakers

    Faika Zanjani, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Gerontology and Associate Dean of Research in VCU's College of Health Professions. At VCU, in the Center of Inclusion, Inquiry, and Innovation (iCubed), Zanjani's research focuses on brain health equity in community-dwelling middle-aged and older adults. Her current work is aimed at reducing Alzheimer’s Disease/Dementia risks, which initiated the creation of the Richmond Brian Health Initiative. Since arriving at VCU in 2016, Zanjani has mentored over 100 students on research through the iCubed Commonwealth Scholars Program and the Department of Gerontology. 

    Andrea Price, MPS, MBA, serves as the Project Specialist for Aging and Wellness Promotion at the Virginia Center on Aging, where she leads the Alter Program, a dementia education initiative tailored to African-American faith communities. She also co-produces and co-hosts the “Aging for All” podcast, a platform aimed at promoting inclusivity in aging conversations. In addition, Andrea is the editor and writer for the Geriatric Workforce Development Newsletter. An ordained minister and writer, Andrea authored Everyday Prayers for Servant Leaders and is an active member of the ministry team at Beulah AME Church in Farmville, VA.
