The Exceptional Women in Medicine were selected based on peer nominations, research and academic contributions, volunteer work within health care, training at top institutions and innovations in their field of specialty.

I’m grateful that many of them practice right here at CHoR,” said Dr. Shari Barkin, physician-in-chief of CHoR and chair of the Department of Pediatrics at VCU School of Medicine. “Congratulations to these seven remarkable women, who provide outstanding care, life-changing surgeries and timely diagnoses that change quality of life and inspire the next generation of female physicians.”
